The perfect way to see how we do our weddings here at The Jersey Farm Hotel.
Our wedding showcase weekend in January sees our function suite set up for a civil ceremony and for a sit down wedding breakfast too as you would expect it for your wedding reception. Tables are also dressed with what is provided in the package but also others are dressed with different themes from XLB Events our preferred wedding supply company. Lucy from XLB events will be on hand too on the Sunday to answer any questions advice on costs and talk through colour schemes.
On the Sunday of the showcase weekend we have invited a small number of wedding ancillary supply companies along to display their services. This is different from a wedding fayre in that we only have companies we recommend and only one of each service. From cards, to photography, cakes even a saxophonist will be playing while you look around.
There is an opportunity to view hotel rooms, and see other parts of the hotel and hopefully weatehr permitting the grounds for photo opportunities.
Our wedding showcase weekend is Saturday 10 and the Sunday 11 January and open from 12 – 4pm for viewing no appointment necessary just come along. The hotel is open for meals too so why not have a bite to eat in the restaurant while you are here.
2013 superstition set in for a lot of future brides and many held off holding there big day until 2014, so making the current year one of the busiest for wedding celebrations at Jersey Farm Hotel.
Although many weekend dates have been taken there are however mid week and later in the year dates available for weekends. Gone are the days that weddings are only held on weekends as with peoples jobs it is sometimes beneficial to be on other days of the week. Jersey Farm also offers a discount Monday to Thursday off the wedding package so this entices couples to plan on these days.
Jersey Farm has become one of the most popular wedding venues in the North East of England due to the unique services we offer. Our all inclusive wedding package is amazing value and has everything included in the price that you would need for the perfect day. We at Jersey Farm have found this the best way for couples to organise their day and also have peace of mind what their day will cost so not be shocked by hidden costs and charges that some venues seem to find. Along with exceptional value goes the confidence of our renowned food and the uniqueness of creating a menu with choices for yout guests to choose from on your special day. A menu with 3 starters, 2 main course and 3 desserts can be devised by you which no other venue is able to cater. We have had the same system now for over 30 years and always has proved popular and had many compliments over the years.
If you are thinking of Jersey Farm as your venue why not come along to our wedding fayre on the 16th February. On this day you can meet wedding supply companies that Jersey farm receommends as well as seeing the venue, hotel rooms and the grounds. You can discuss any questions you may have with our function staff in an informal atmosphere.

Our latest murder mystery evening took place hosted by Murder Mystery Productions this evening. The plot was acted out by Murder Mystery Productions and was loosely based around the staff and management of a biscuit factory where some dodgy dealings had taken place.
Guests enjoyed a three course meal with choices that were decided on the evening. On the tables when guests sat down were some notes to set the scene and give background information to the plot and to the characters involved.
The menu for the evening was all prepared in house choice of Thai fish cakes, pate or vegetable soup to start followed by traditional roast beef or chicken chasseur with vegetables and roast potatoes. While guests tucked into their dinner suspects mingled around the tables to be 'interrogated'.
Desserts were chosen from homemade sticky toffee pudding and butterscotch sauce, warm chocolate drizzled profiteroles and fresh fruit pavlova with coffee and mint to follow.
Guests sat in teams and solved the murder from all the assembled clues. The real scenario was then acted out to conclude the evening
Monday 7 January saw the annual fun charity quiz night held by Durham Grassland Society in the barn Jersey Farm Hotel. 70 farmers and guests turned out for this light hearted event which saw Durham Grassland Society return to Jersey Farm as their preferred venue.
