The perfect way to see how we do our weddings here at The Jersey Farm Hotel.
Our wedding showcase weekend in January sees our function suite set up for a civil ceremony and for a sit down wedding breakfast too as you would expect it for your wedding reception. Tables are also dressed with what is provided in the package but also others are dressed with different themes from XLB Events our preferred wedding supply company. Lucy from XLB events will be on hand too on the Sunday to answer any questions advice on costs and talk through colour schemes.
On the Sunday of the showcase weekend we have invited a small number of wedding ancillary supply companies along to display their services. This is different from a wedding fayre in that we only have companies we recommend and only one of each service. From cards, to photography, cakes even a saxophonist will be playing while you look around.
There is an opportunity to view hotel rooms, and see other parts of the hotel and hopefully weatehr permitting the grounds for photo opportunities.
Our wedding showcase weekend is Saturday 10 and the Sunday 11 January and open from 12 – 4pm for viewing no appointment necessary just come along. The hotel is open for meals too so why not have a bite to eat in the restaurant while you are here.

All the team at the Jersey Farm Hotel wish them all the very best for the future. Jersey farm is one of the premier wedding venues in the North of England and many bridal parties will recommend and tell you have well we looked after them.
The wedding trend at the Jersey Farm Hotel hasn't abated as the venue becomes more popular than ever. Brides from all over the North East of England and further are finding our unique quirky hotel.
Last weekend saw our wedding showcase weekend happen where brides ventured out in the snow to see the Barn function suite all set for a wedding and to get ideas for theirs. Tables were dressed with ideas from Lucy at Party On Balloons and event hire and every table different brides had plenty to look and choose from. All the seats with chair covers had different styles of bows on them to give new ideas.
Jersey Farm doesn't only do large weddings in the separate function suite they can tailor smaller packages to organisers needs. This weekend sees a smaller wedding in the Garden suite with leads out onto the terrace at the front of the hotel. This is a more informal gathering with the food being from the famous carvery.
We can do weddings from a very small number with all food and drinks packages being catered to ones needs.

It's true you may have seen our price in the local press, it's not a gimmick. This our normal rate for 2013 based on 60 day guests and 90 evening, with everything you need for a perfect wedding day.
Your civil ceremony room laid out, chairs with chair covers supplied by Party On Balloon & Event Hire with sash to match your colour scheme. A flower arrangement provided by us on the registrar table using our preferred florist Muscari.
Glass of bucks fizz is waiting after your civil ceremony, before retiring into your private gardens for photos and mingling with guests on your private terrace.
During this time the covered chairs are being moved to the main dining tables to finish off the wow factor of The Barn. The centre pieces are reflected by the oversized table mirrors which reflect light and the candlelight of our wrought iron candlesticks. Your wedding cake will be in pride of place in the centre of the top table displayed on one of our many cake stands along with our decorative sword and cake knife.
On returning into your private function building you may choose to have a receiving line before being announced to your guests by the Master of Ceremonies.

Joyce and Richard Healey were married today with a civil ceremony at the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle.
They commented what a magnificent building the museum was and fantastic venue for a wedding. The setting was perfect for photographs with the photographer taking longer than usual becuase there were so many scenes and photo opportunities.
Guests even lingered after the ceremony to browse the museum and also waited to see the unique silver swan pluck the fish from the river
Congratulations and best wishes go to Mr and Mrs Healey from all the team at the Jersey Farm Hotel and a long and happy life is wished for them for the future
At the wedding of Sara and Chris Drysdale today we saw a very unusual photo opportunity indeed, in the form of a racing car parked outside the venue.
This was no ordinary race car but the 500 BHP Citroen Xsara Rallycross Super Car belonging to 3 times British Rallycross Champion 'Mad Mark'.
You may ask how the car came to be parked outside the function suite, well the car and team are based at Jersey Farm Hotel, in Barnard Castle. But why would a bride and groom want this? Because in their spare time Sara and Chris are fully trained marshals. These are the volunteers at race circuits, who look after the track and safety at events. So Mad Mark was only too pleased to lend them the Citroen, as a grateful admirerer of the volunteer marshals who give up their time so that races can go ahead.
It was poignant that one of Sara's first duties was to tend to Mark when he crashed at Croft Circuit, Near Darlington.
Mark parked the car outside for photos and the racing theme carried on inside the venue, where a racing car cake was on show. Tables were named after race circuits, chequered flags were draped and in the evening a race car simulator was the highlight for guests to set lap times.
Jersey Farm always obliges to cater for any Brides theme, in this case their love of motorsport was very evident.
More details on the car, driver and Jersey Farm Race team can be found at madmark.co.uk
here is a thank you card received showing the car with Sara and Chris
