Spring has sprung, wedding days are here

The lovely weather of late has brought people out to explore the delights of  Barnard Castle and County Durham. We can see our daffodils poking out of the ground ready to bloom and the grass becoming greener in the fields and everything starts to look neater. Just as well really because the first of the 2013 weddings will be soon.

This year has become really popular for weddings for us. Maybe its our very competitive rates or our all inclusive package which includes everything brides need for a perfect day. We also offer chair covers now from Party On balloon and event hire with bows colour coordinated to the brides theme. This has been a great selling point with brides finding they have money left over in their budget because we have everything covered so that they can afford the little extra and different touches to make their day unique. Bands, fireworks, candy carts all spring to mind as brides try to find services that make their day unique.

Jersey Farm has now become one of the most popular wedding and event venues in the area. Bookings for 2014 are going quickly too as more people find our unique, quirky hotel. Our wedding fayre recently attracted the most number of visitors ever. We also have planned a showcase weekend on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 march from 12 till 4pm.

A showcase is where we set the whole function suite for  a wedding as it would be for a wedding, the chairs are covered by Party On and they will put some different table decorations out for people to view. The civil ceremony room is set up too. Brides can view the function room laid out see hotel rooms and facilities and also chat to our Wedding Coordinator Ruth about their special day. So definitely worth a visit on this weekend. The restaurant will be open so you could combine your viewing with something to eat or drink in the bar of the hotel.

Joyce and Richard Healy Married at Bowes Museum followed by reception at The Jersey Farm

Joyce and Richard Healey were married today with a civil ceremony at the Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle.

They commented what a magnificent building the museum was and fantastic venue for a wedding. The setting was perfect for photographs with the photographer taking longer than usual becuase there were so many scenes and photo opportunities.

Guests even lingered after the ceremony to browse the museum and also waited to see the unique silver swan pluck the fish from the river

Congratulations and best wishes go to Mr and Mrs Healey from all the team at the Jersey Farm Hotel and a long and happy life is wished for them for the future
